Five volunteers from The Village Family Service Center helped change an office space into a room for a new mother at New Beginnings Sept. 26. Volunteers painted the room, put a dresser in it and decorated it. New Beginnings provides a safe, secure residence for pregnant women, new mothers and their babies while fostering self-esteem, educational growth and skills of living, parenting and decision-making based upon Christian values. More than 370 volunteers completed around 50 projects in central Minnesota for the United Way Day of Caring.
