Eighteen girls in grades seven through nine participated in the “Faith and Fun with the Franciscans” camp from June 10-12, beginning with a blessing of tents. Following the theme “Dance the Circle of Sacredness,” the girls designed T-shirts and painted pots using Native American symbols, tried drumming and made a pilgrimage to sacred sites on the grounds of St. Francis Convent, Little Falls.

Campers were paired with a Franciscan Sister companion for lunch, conversation and prayer. At story time, they learned about the values of SS. Francis and Clare of Assisi. The seventh annual camp also included Mass, skits, activities, campfire and singing. In the closing ritual, they were sent forth with the San Damiano cross and the Peace Prayer.
