Through our gift, we say ‘THANK YOU’ — and ‘YES’

Categories: Around the Diocese

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am excited that one of my first responsibilities is to ask for your support of our Annual Diocesan Appeal. Your response, and mine, as disciples of the risen Christ, expresses our “thank you” for God’s providence in our lives, and our “yes” to God’s call to care for the needs of others . . . especially the most vulnerable. Your gift will be used solely to support the ministries that impact our Catholic community throughout the diocese. Here are three examples of these ministries:

page12bishopdkOur Vocations Office introduces the priesthood to young men, assists men who are discerning the priesthood or religious life and stays in touch with seminarians and their families through the process. Generous support and fervent prayer have led to 20 seminarians currently studying to serve our diocese.

The Office of Marriage and Family provides mentors and training for engaged couples and training for married couples who wish to practice natural family planning. The office supports efforts to defend the unborn; arranges the annual Diocesan Men’s Conference and provides opportunities to strengthen family life.

Catholic Education Ministries centers its efforts on passing our Catholic faith to coming generations. They provide service to Catholic schools, religious education/faith formation for preschool through adults, and sacramental preparation and youth ministry.

I assure you, these and other ministries provide much-needed services, and I will be a good steward of your generosity. Please visit our website at www.stcdio.org for more information about them.

Since coming to the Diocese of St. Cloud, I continue to meet people who are gifted with a strong faith, admirable work ethic and great generosity. I ask you to prayerfully consider a gift to the Annual Diocesan Appeal. Together let us call on the Holy Spirit to ignite our faith and direct our hearts for humble and generous service.

I am blessed to be your bishop. Know that I will keep you in my daily prayer as we journey together in faith.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,
+Donald J. Kettler
Bishop of St. Cloud
