Jane Marrin appointed chancellor for the diocese

Jane Marrin, who served as the St. Cloud Diocese’s planning director from January 2001 to June 2012 and as interim director of communications since December 2012, was named chancellor April 1.

Marrin was a member of the Diocesan Planning Council, an advisory body to Bishop John Kinney, since its inception in 1997 prior to becoming planning director.

Previously she directed the Respect Life and Social Concerns offices for the diocese and earlier worked as a counselor for Catholic Charities.

Marrin replaces Benedictine Sister Nancy Bauer who served as interim chancellor since October 2013 following Catherine (Cate) Coghlan’s retirement from that position in September of last year.

Sister Nancy, prioress of St. Benedict’s Monastery in St. Joseph from 2005-2011, will begin teaching canon law at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in June.
