The 25th annual Senior High Youth Rally is a month away, Sunday, Oct. 27.

The annual event runs from from 11:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s University in Collegeville. The theme is “S.W.A.G.: Saved With Amazing Grace,” designed to encourage youth grades nine through 12 to celebrate their Catholic faith.

Popple (the duo Dan Harms and Kyle Heiman) will offer a message of encountering Christ through storytelling, music, humor and prayer at the Senior High Youth Rally Oct. 27, and will also lead a workshop and adoration.

Popple (the duo Dan Harms and Kyle Heiman) is the featured presenter, with a message of encountering Christ through storytelling, music, humor and prayer. Popple will also lead a workshop and adoration.

Highlights include Mass in the Abbey Church, concelebrated by many parish priests, and two new components — adoration and a eucharistic procession. The day also includes a service project (assembling Disaster Relief Kits), recreational activities with inflatables, dodgeball, a bungee run and obstacle course, an indoor picnic supper and awards for youth minister and youth.

All attendees are asked to bring a donation for the collection — the Child Survivor Project of our Sister Diocese in Homa Bay, Kenya, which provides education and training for orphans.

Nominations for youth ministry awards, the highest recognition from the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry a diocese can confer, are now open through parish rally coordinators. The St. Timothy Award is given to a junior or senior high school youth who sets a positive example for other youth. The Companions on the Journey Award is for an adult who demonstrates outstanding commitment to youth ministry.

Teens should register with their parish rally coordinator. The fee for the day is $30 per person until Oct. 17 (after Oct. 17 is $35); registration will be accepted up to the day of the rally. T-shirts ($10-12) are available to order until Oct. 17. For more information, or to view the promotional video, visit www.stcdio.org/youthrally.
