The spring air will bring a special challenge for women across the diocese to “know your faith and live it.”

That’s the theme of the St. Cloud Diocesan Council of Catholic Women’s spring retreat March 29 at St. Joseph Church in St. Joseph. The retreat that will focus on the New Evangelization is open to all women, including teenagers, in the Diocese of St. Cloud and beyond. Men may attend as well.

“Sometimes when we think of evangelization we think it is what Protestants do, but it’s for all Christians,” said Benedictine Sister Joyce Iten, who is a keynoter for the retreat and conducts pastoral ministry at St. Joseph Parish in St. Joseph.

The retreat begins with registration at 9 a.m. followed by Mass. Sister Joyce will present her keynote after Mass. The day will also include lunch and a talk by Benedictine Sister Margaret Michaud, a presenter for the Spirituality Center at St. Benedict’s Monastery in St. Joseph.

Sister Joyce plans to talk about the Gospel and Jesus instructing people to go forth and baptize, preach and teach. She will tell stories describing how people were touched by the word of God. She also hopes to explore what inspires people to become excited about the word of God.

Sister Margaret will present on evangelizing according to the message of Jesus. Her talk will focus on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and the two greatest commandments.

To register contact your parish secretary or send your registration forms to Marlyce Plante, 2293 Pinecone Road, Sartell, MN 56377. Participants can register at the door.
